November through February is the best time to visit Bangkok for tours. Temperatures are cooler (around 25–30°C), humidity is lower, and outdoor activities like temple tours and bike adventures are far more comfortable. December and January are the peak months, so popular tours like the Grand Palace and floating markets can sell out — book at least a week in advance during this period.

For most tours, booking 2–3 days ahead is sufficient outside of peak season (November–February). During the high season or for popular small-group tours like cooking classes (limited to 8–12 guests) and private canal boat tours, we recommend booking 1–2 weeks in advance. Free cancellation on most tours means there's no downside to booking early.

Comfortable, closed shoes are recommended as you'll be walking on ancient uneven surfaces.

Tipping is not mandatory but is warmly appreciated and culturally customary in Thailand. A tip of 100–200 THB (approximately $3–6 USD) per person for a half-day tour and 200–300 THB for a full day is a respectful standard for excellent guiding. For cooking classes and food tours where the guide handles all logistics and preparation, 200 THB is a thoughtful minimum. Always tip in cash, in Thai Baht.
